Terms of Service
By enrolling in The Cocoa Program Membership ("the Program"), you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before booking your consultation.

1. Program Overview
The Cocoa Program is a 90 day minimum corrective skincare membership designed to address acne, hyperpigmentation, and barrier concerns through personalized routines, structured check ins, and ongoing professional guidance.
Membership includes:
- Custom skincare regimen creation and ongoing adjustments
- Structured check ins with progress monitoring (weekly β bi-weekly β monthly as you progress)
- Access to secure client portal with messaging support
- Skin education resources
- Treatment planning guidance (Calgary clients only)
2. Membership Commitment & Billing
Minimum Commitment: 3 months (90 days) from enrollment date
Monthly Fee: $119 CAD, billed automatically on the same date each month
Payment Method: Credit card or debit card on file. You authorize Cocoa Skyn to charge your payment method monthly for the duration of your membership.
Billing Date: Your billing date is set based on your enrollment date and remains consistent each month (e.g., if you enroll on January 15th, you'll be billed on the 15th of each subsequent month).
After 3 Month Minimum: Membership continues on a month to month basis until cancelled. You may cancel at any time after completing your 3 month minimum commitment with 7 days notice prior to your next billing date.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Before 3 Month Minimum:
No refunds or early cancellations are permitted before completing the 3 month minimum commitment.
If you wish to discontinue services before 90 days, you remain responsible for payment through the end of your 3 month commitment period.
Exception: Medical reasons or extenuating circumstances will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
After 3 Month Minimum:
You may cancel at any time with 7 days written notice prior to your next billing date.
Notice must be submitted via email to hello@cocoaskyn.com.
No partial month refunds will be issued. You will retain access to the client portal and messaging support through the end of your paid billing period.
Non-Engagement Cancellation:
If you fail to complete required check ins for 30 consecutive days without communication, Cocoa Skyn reserves the right to terminate your membership and process any remaining payments owed within your 3 month minimum.
4. Program Requirements
Mandatory Product Use:
To ensure effective results and accurate troubleshooting, all Cocoa Program members must use exclusively Cocoa Skyn products as recommended in their custom regimen.
Why this matters:
Corrective skincare requires a cohesive system where ingredients work synergistically. Mixing outside products compromises my ability to identify issues and adjust your routine effectively. I cannot guarantee results if the recommended routine is not followed.
Exceptions:
Prescription products prescribed by a dermatologist or physician may be accommodated on a case by case basis with documentation.
Noncompliance:
If you choose to use unapproved products without prior discussion, Cocoa Skyn is not responsible for lack of results, adverse reactions, or setbacks. Continued noncompliance may result in termination of membership.
5. Client Responsibilities
To participate in The Cocoa Program, you agree to:

Follow your prescribed routine as directed, including application instructions and frequency

Complete check ins on time

Submit progress photos with each check in (front, left side, right side of face)

Communicate proactively if you experience reactions, have questions, or need adjustments

Purchase and use recommended products within the Cocoa Skyn line

Be honest about your routine adherence, lifestyle factors, and any changes (medications, hormones, stress, diet, etc.) that may impact your skin
Failure to engage: If you do not complete check ins for 30+ days without communication, your membership may be subject to termination as outlined in Section 3.
6. Communication & Response Times
Portal Messaging:
Messages sent through the client portal will receive a response within 1-2 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding statutory holidays)
Urgent concerns (severe reactions, unexpected symptoms) should be flagged as "urgent" in your message
Check In Reviews:
Submitted check ins will be reviewed and responded to within 1-2 business days
Routine adjustments (if needed) will be provided in the check in response
Business Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST
Messages sent after hours or on weekends will be answered on the next business day
7. Results & Expectations
No Guarantees:
While The Cocoa Program is designed to deliver corrective results, Cocoa Skyn cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Skincare results depend heavily on:
- Consistent product use as directed
- Completion of check ins and implementation of adjustments
- Lifestyle factors (sleep, stress, diet, hormones)
- Underlying medical conditions
If Results Plateau:
If you are adhering to your routine and completing check ins but not seeing expected progress, we will troubleshoot together to identify barriers (hormonal factors, medical issues, routine adjustments needed, etc.).
8. Scope of Practice
What I Provide:
As a Certified Esthetician and Registered Nurse, I provide corrective skincare guidance, product recommendations, and routine adjustments within my scope of practice.
What I Do NOT Provide:
- Medical diagnosis or treatment of skin conditions
- Prescription medications
- Treatment of medical dermatological conditions requiring physician care
When to See a Doctor:
If I identify concerns that require medical evaluation, I will refer you to a dermatologist or physician. Your membership can continue alongside medical treatment.
9. Privacy & Confidentiality
Your Information:
All personal information, photos, and health details shared through the client portal are kept strictly confidential in accordance with Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA).
Use of Photos:
Before/after photos or testimonials will NEVER be shared publicly without your explicit written consent. If you choose to provide consent, you may revoke it at any time.
Data Storage:
Your client information is stored securely through Practice Better and is only accessible by authorized Cocoa Skyn team members.
10. Liability & Disclaimer
Assumption of Risk:
By enrolling in The Cocoa Program, you acknowledge that skincare treatments carry inherent risks including (but not limited to): purging, temporary irritation, sensitivity, or allergic reactions.
Adverse Reactions:
If you experience severe redness, swelling, burning, rash, or other adverse reactions, discontinue use immediately and contact me through the portal. Seek medical attention if symptoms are severe.
Limitation of Liability:
Cocoa Skyn and Sola Dada are not liable for adverse reactions, lack of results, or outcomes resulting from:
- Failure to follow prescribed routine
- Use of non-approved products
- Failure to complete check ins or communicate concerns
- Underlying medical conditions
- Allergic reactions to ingredients
11. Modifications to Terms
Cocoa Skyn reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be communicated via email and posted in the client portal. Continued use of the membership after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
Pricing Changes:
Membership pricing may be adjusted with 30 days notice. Current members will be notified via email and will have the option to continue at the new rate or cancel their membership without penalty.
